Topsy - Real-time Search for the Social web

The other day I was looking for some ways to index the social activity of someone and I bumped on a search service called Topsy. In their own words, "Topsy is a realtime search engine powered by the Social Web. Unlike traditional web search engines, Topsy indexes and ranks search results based upon the most influential conversations millions of people are having every day about each specific term, topic, page or domain queried".

GetGlue - Check-in to Entertainment

Put simply, GetGlue is a social network where one can share with his/her friends what are their entertainment activities.
It has the same principle as foursquare where one checks-in a place (or venue) and collect points and badges, only in this case you check-in an entertainment activity and collects points and stickers.

Top 10 IT People to follow on Twitter

One of the most interesting usages I found on using Twitter is being able to keep up to the ideas and thought of the most influential people on the IT business in a pace that would never be possible by buying magazines, articles or RSS feeds.

LinkedIn Platform Opens an API

LinkedIn has announced today that they have released their API to allow developers all over the world to create applications that integrate better with their service.
All you have to do is access the LinkedIn Developer Network, get an account and API Key (to be used with the oAuth protocol) and you are good to go.
